I had no expectations, but was entertained
I take my grandson to country music concerts as our "date" night, I haven't listened to much by Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade.
A little after 9, he walked on stage with a guitar and started playing and singing. At the advertised start time, the house was only half full. The show started an hour late, I think to get more people there.
He played a few songs alone, pacing the long center stage, there were microphones on each end and on each side. His band joined him, and they were excellent.
As the show got into the 3rd hour, he started singing more hits that people were expecting. During one, people took off their boots and held them up. He signed lots of stuff while singing.
His back up singer was awesome. Her voice could be grungy and then just take off soaring high. She was charismatic and clearly enjoying herself.
He was a great entertainer, we had a wonderful time. I was very moved by his doing this for his fans. I joked with my grandson, if you wanted something signed, hold up a cute kid. It worked.
